CLT to PDX

Driving across country was full of life. The Subaru found it's way to Portland, no problems. Opa's atlas was the source of direction and the dogs were our source of entertainment. We had perfect weather the entire trip. Even the cold rainy day in Fairfield, Iowa was wonderful, relaxing and comfortable. We camped one night, just outside of Jackson, Wyoming. Our camp was set on the banks of a beautiful lake in the mountains. It was a quiet spot and the sky was glittered with stars, some shooting. The Milky Way was bright. Even though we were told to "keep warm", the chilled air surprised us when we woke up. The good thing was, we did wake up and we did so peacefully. The talk of bears and discussing "the plan" if a bear attacked us had Fedora and I freaked. I had myself convinced that a bear was going to kill all of us. Photos from our trip are plentiful. Here are a few.
